1. Understanding TNPSC CCSE-II (Group II & IIA)
TNPSC’s Combined Civil Services Examination‑II includes:
- Group II: Professional-level roles such as Assistant Section Officer, Special Branch Assistant, Assistant Inspector, etc., usually requiring interviews.
- Group IIA: Clerical roles (non-interview) in departments like Education, Labour, Transport, Forest, Co-operative Societies. Final selection is based purely on performance in written exams.
The original Notification No. 08/2024 (dated 20 June 2024) invited applications for 645 vacancies. Addenda 8A to 8E expanded that number, and Addendum 8F now adds 129 more.
